A2WC Publisher is an internal software tool built by and for Acts 2 Worship Center (“A2WC,” “we,” “us”). It runs on a computer owned by the church and is used by church staff and volunteers to post recordings of our Sunday services to our own YouTube channel, Facebook Page, Roku channel and Spotify podcast. It is not offered to the public and has no users outside the church.
This policy explains what information the tool handles, why, and what it does not do.
What the tool does
Each week, an authorized church volunteer selects a video recording of the Sunday service on the church’s computer. The tool then:
- uploads that video to the Acts 2 Worship Center YouTube channel using the YouTube Data API;
- uploads that video to the Acts 2 Worship Center Facebook Page;
- extracts the audio and places the video, audio and two feed files on storage the church controls, from which our Roku channel and Spotify podcast are updated.
The only content the tool ever transmits is the church’s own service recordings and the title and description a volunteer types for them.
Information we access and store
Google account authorization. To upload to our YouTube channel, the tool asks the owner of that channel to sign in with Google once and grant permission to upload videos (the youtube.upload scope). Google returns an authorization token. That token is stored only in the tool’s settings file on the church computer, and it is used for one purpose: uploading our own videos to our own channel. We do not use it to read, download, edit or delete anything on YouTube, and we do not access any other Google service or any other account.
Facebook Page authorization. The tool holds a Page access token for the church’s own Facebook Page, stored in the same local settings file, used only to post videos to that Page.
Storage credentials. The tool holds access keys for the church’s own media storage (Cloudflare R2), used only to place our service recordings and feed files there.
Publishing history. The tool keeps a local list of what it has published — the service title, date, file size, and the resulting video links — so volunteers can see whether a service has already gone out. This list lives on the church computer only.
The tool does not collect, store or transmit any personal information about the volunteers who operate it, about viewers of our videos, or about anyone else. It has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no cookies, and no advertising.
Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure
A2WC Publisher’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- We use the YouTube authorization only to upload the church’s own videos to the church’s own channel.
- We do not transfer Google user data to anyone, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to build profiles.
- No person reads Google user data except as needed to operate the tool (for example, a church administrator troubleshooting a failed upload).
Sharing
We do not share any information handled by the tool with third parties, except that the videos themselves are, by design, published to YouTube, Facebook, Roku and Spotify, each of which is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
Security and retention
All credentials are stored in a settings file on the church computer that only that computer’s user account can read. The tool communicates with YouTube, Facebook and our storage over encrypted (HTTPS) connections only.
Authorization tokens are kept for as long as the church uses the tool with that service. Disconnecting a service in the tool’s Settings deletes its token immediately. Access can also be revoked at any time from the Google Account’s Third-party apps & services page or from Facebook’s Business Integrations settings, and doing so stops the tool from posting to that service.
Children
The tool is operated only by adult church staff and volunteers. It does not collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If the tool’s behaviour changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the effective date above.
